Lockdown Theatre Festival
In April 2020 we created an online audio drama festival adapting 4 stage plays as part of the BBC’s Culture in Quarantine season. The Lockdown Theatre Festival was dreamed up to give life to the plays that had their theatre runs cancelled when Covid-19 struck. We worked with festival founder Bertie Carvell and the creative teams from theatres from around the UK to make six hours of drama for BBC Radio 3 and Radio 4. We sent microphones out to actors who performed together live over Zoom, with technical support from our team. In the space of 2 months we created four plays, a panel discussion, an audio documentary, and a social media campaign. We developed new recording techniques and were lucky to work with the amazing creative teams from the theatres including 27 actors, 3 composers, 4 writers and 5 sound designers.
